Backup Exec 7.3 Errors

By matt.hall ·
I have a Windows NT 4.0 Server w/ SP6a on which I am running Veritas Backup Exec v.7.3 Every once in a while (every couple of months) it will start throwing Dr. Watson errors up occuring in BENGINE.EXE. When I look in the Dr. Watson log, the error says that the error occurred in BENGINE.DBG.

It says that it's an access violation 0xc0000005.
Veritas's Knowledge Base didn't have any relavent information on the error.

I have seen these errors a coule of times with other applications

3 thing to try:

1) defrag your disk, look for a version of diskeeper lite, its free.

2) install a new video driver or reinstall the existing one.

3) reinstall the network driver.

Good luck
Thanks Norm
