I run a Novell network for a CPA office with A GroupWise 5.5 server for about 50 people. The server was installed a year ago by a vendor with no patches. I want to update to the recent patches on my email server but am reluctant because I have no backup. I have a Novell 5.0 network server with Backup Exec (single server version 8.0) installed. There is no backup software installed on the email server. I only have used 1.42 GB on SYS (only volume on email server). Could I copy it uncompressed to a network server volume, and therefore when my nightly backup runs it would be on tape? Does anyone know of a quick backup solution with out having to purchase the multi server license for Backup Exec? Also what is a good plan for email server backup intervals?
