Backup on Windows 98

I am using windows 98 with cd writer and default windows backup program. I want to backup 3 GB data from my pc to the cd. Can i take the backup using windows back program ?
is the spanning available with it ?
Can it ask for the next cd after writing on first and so on...

sorry, windows doesn't support backing up to cd. only way you could do it is backup to a file and burn that to cd. spanning would depend on your cd burning software and i have not seen that feature in any i've seen... you could fit it all onto a dvd if you had a dvd burner...

Microsoft does NOT consider CD or DVD drives to be valid backup destinations.

Your only option to backup to a CD drive is to use 3rd party back up software.

Take a look at the freeware offerings from
www.nonags.com
and www.snapfiles.com

adaptec easy cd creator ver4 and above can do this, if the option sytem backup is installed.
also you can use ghost software by symantec, compressed image may be 1.5 gb
i think but not sure that if you choosed ghost directly to cd it will do this, but there is a risk, you are burning directly, on the fly
