Backups on Windows 2000 Server

By gdarby ·
Our NetAdmin has just left our company without notice and I'm stuck with taking care of and learning his job...So I'm new at this. Everything is running good on our server but the daily and monthly backups when set on a schedule. For now, I doing manual backups daily. Come to find out, he wasn't doing any backups at all, at least the scripts wasn't working. So, no data was ever being backed up. Now, can someone help me in a step-by-step on how to set this up. I've went through the steps using "Windows Backup and Recovery" program...with no luck. Or either I doing something wrong. This just doesn't look that hard. Anyway, so far, I've followed the Microsoft's step-by-step guide in setting backups with no luck. This is a small server with only "2" 20gb HD's, with a total of 13 to 14 gb of data to backup daily.

It makes things very easy with all of the wizards and such. If you are a novice at this, try to make it as easy as you can until you have more under your belt.
