First, I have machine with Win NT WS 4.0 SP6, placed on partitions 1, 2 and 3.
Then I install Win 2000 Professional on partition 4.
Now, when I start NT4, it says during chkdsk sessions: “NTFS are created by newer version of Win Nt, cannot process volume”, and skips drive check. So, how to return partitions to previous state?
I read somewhere, that NTFS version number stored on offset 0x130 on MFT #3 $Volume; and I can rewrite it from value 0?03-0?00 (NTFS version 3.0) to 0?01-0?02 (NTFS version 1.2).
If it’s right, which utility can serve my needs?
