You have to
keep the software updated. The new updates will patch older drivers. There were alot of problems with version 6. I have a friend who prefers to use version 5 for what he does. He thinks that it is more reliable than 6. I haven’t had too many problems with it but I was constantly updating it.

Problem is – I can’t burn using a different program (Sony’s Click to DVD) that was preinstalled when I bought the laptop and I only tried using Nero to determine if it was the drive or the software. I uninstalled Nero so there wouldn’t be any conflicts with the other DVD burning Software and posted the error so someone might be able to determine what the problem is –
Once again – since this is a new post;
I can read and burn CD’s on my Sony DVD RW DW-Q58A drive and I can read DVD’s but cannot burn DVD’s. I have been able to burn DVD’s in the past. I have updated all drivers and software. I uninstalled DVD drive and reinstalled. I cleaned the lens. I cannot burn DVD’s using any burning software I’ve tried. I’ve uninstalled Nero which I installed so I now only have preinstalled burining software on my laptop. I get error 330023 when using Click to DVD and Sony cannot help. The only thing I have not tried to do is burn a dvd with an external USB drive which I cannot find at vthis point (other than to purchase which I do not want to do). My last question was: Is it likely the DVD burning portion of the DVD drive would fail and all else work?
