BAD_POOL_CALLER error when trying to run XP home repair

By kevin7frg ·
I can install a fresh copy, but when trying to run a repair from the disc I get this error. Is there any way of getting around installing all the software?

Before repairing I'd try going to Start\Run and type in sfc.exe /scannow with the Windows disc in the drive. System File Checker (sfc) will ensure that all of the files need for Windows to run are in the proper location and restore them as needed. Maybe there's s corrupt file. <br>
If you get the same error after running SFC post back here.
