we recently configured a router into a lan as a firewall from the dsl modem. the router is a dhcp server and all nodes on the lan are running tcp/ip. everyone has internet and lan access.
soon after this site started loosing it’s internet connection (the browser opens and attempts to find the homepage, but fails). re-initializing the router and modem usually restores the system to operating condition; however, the frequency of this problem increases. in time, rebooting devices no longer restores the internet connection. the lan runs flawlessly.
we replaced the router with one from a different manufacturer. the system was configured successfully…however, the same problem surfaced.
this same pattern has occurred at a second site that we installed.
Can somebody help me out here?
