Bad vendor contracts

According to attorney Mark Grossman, most IT contracts are "atrocious, poorly written and short on details." In an article in ComputerWorld by Thomas Hoffman

the legal advisor says that writing ineffective contracts is a common practice of technology buyers because they fail to ensure system performance promises from vendors. Do you specify in your contracts any kind of performance assurance clauses?

A survey of both European and U. S. enterprises rated the most trusted security service vendors almost identically. Topping the list were Symantec, Cisco, IBM, and VeriSign.

... we don't trust vendors. Their job is similar to that of a car dealer: to sell us something that they did not design or develop.
