Batch file in Windows 98

By irigoyenyepez ·
I want to execute a batch file in Visual Fox (6.0). The purpose of the .BAT file is to backup my folder DATA to another folder called NOTOCAR. When I execute the command DEL in order to refresh de folder NOTOCAR before I execute XCOPY, the command DEL doesn't function. Any suggestions?

If you place a pause after your delete command what is the displayed message? Perhaps cutting and pasting a section of the code for us will help. I've used a simple del c:\notocar\*.* many times with no problem in batch files.

Try the following code:

@echo off
If exist c:\vfp\notocar\*.* del c:\vfp\notocar\*.* > nul
xcopy c:\vfp\data c:\vfp\notocar /E

You just need to replace c:\vfp with other name.

Dont understand what you mean by batch file in Visual Fox (6.0). If you are executing in VFP environemnt, then the likely reasons are:

(1) Files not closed. Try close databases ..
(2) In FoxPro if it is not "RUN DEL ..", then I think in FoxPro, it should be "Delete FILE ...".
