Batch printing to multiple printers/ fax

By scottlarsen ·
I am wondering if it is possible to send a single print to multiple printers. We have Microsoft fax setup on Windows NT SBS and have just enabled the fax. Unfortunately we'd like to force users to create a hard copy of each fax sent out. Is thereeithe a setting within MS fax, or a way to send it to the fax (printer) as well as an actual printer within our office?

That's an interesting technical challenge because NT has to send the document through a printer driver and then on to the printer (or fax) so you would have to intercept it between the document-creation software and the printer driver and send the same raw document to both drivers.

Just thinking out loud here, since you're using SBS, would it be possible to use Exchange to receive the copy in a mailbox?
Hmmm... I'll have to give that one some thought but I thought I'd throw it out there as a possible path to pursue.

If the document always had the same filename this would work. I am not sure about the fax but it is a print driver.
print /d:\\server\sharename document.txt
This only works for straight ASCII text documents. Maybe there is a command line switch for your application.
