BCP fro SQL 7 and 2000

By don ·
Can you BCP out of one server running SQL7 and then BCP back into a different server running SQL2000. I am trying to update my sort order from Binary to DOCI and understand that BCP is the only way to accomplish. If I could update from SQL 7 to 2000at the same time it would save a tremendous amount of time

Any info you could give would be appreciated

Going from 7.0 to 2K using BCP isn't a problem at all, just be sure that you match up the switches.

The sort order shouldn't matter, because once you've exported the data, it loses association with a particular sort order, so when you import it into to the new table, it gets sorted according to the table's collation.
