Hi, here are some links to get you started:
http://www.rsasecurity.com (articles, free newsletter)
http://www.gosci.com/ (training/news)
http://www.icsa.net (certification info., free mag. subscription, latest developments in security and problemareas).
http://www.nsi.org
http://www.ntsecurity.net (lots of articles, testing software, fixes, etc.).
Know the basics and then move into more advanced areas. Know, for example, what C2 means (for nt)as opposed to A or B level security; types ofencryption and in what situations; user need versus security; and areas of breach. For example, ethernet is cheap and effective, but easy to breach unlike fibre optic which is expensive and less flexible, etc. Security covers all angles from networkphysical design to software choices and user need. Hope this helps.

Heya Shawn,

That sure is a loaded question lol, i think the proposed answer #1 is good as well you should check out www.rootshell.com
http://www.hackerwhacker.com or org
http://www.grc.com
you should also subscribe to mailing lists that offersecurity news and/or firewall lists. These are your best bet to learn about the security. You could also just do search on the net for "security". Seriously tho, i am a MCSE as well, but the only REAL secure network is one thats not on the net lol. Well lemme know if ya read my post, im curios to see how it all goes for you.

Here is a i subscribe too that i learned alot from :

firewalls@Lists.GNAC.NET
