Before install NT 4 worksatation

What type of information are you trying to get about the drive? Make and model number? This information is usually displayed when you start up your computer. Some computers "hide" this information and may require you to enter into the system "setup" screen (or CMOS settings). You can get in there (and do lots of damage if you save your changes) usually by hitting a key like F2 or DELETE when you computer starts up. Quite often it will say on the screen what key to hit. Anyway, I'm not sure I answered your question, but give it a try - mainly try watching your screen intently upon boot-up/start-up of your computer. If you find that the information zips by too fast, trying unplugging your keyboard. Many computers will pause and warn you about your keyboard being unplugged, giving you enough time to see the status of you harddrives. Let me know if this helps.
