Beginning of the End of the PC?

This ZNet article by Larry Dignan signals a paradigm shift by one of the leading sellers of PCs.

If Dell is going to move away from the PC business, sounds like they know something big about the life of PCs and it doesn't sound good.

mainframe. What I suspect is happening is Dell is seeing an expected drop in sales due to them being too closely wedded to MS, and wish to establish another strong revenue stream to get them over the hump of lowered PC sales as people reject Windows based Dells or just elect to defer replacements for a few more years.
