Up until May I had worked for a small not profit(lest than 40 people)for 8 years I built their network from the ground up. I install the server software(Window 2000 server), the workstation software (window XP PRO)made all the cat 5 drops set up the router(cisco 828) did minor troubleshooting(mainly removing adware and spyware that the people had put on thier puters) e.t.c
The thing is I am self taught without any formal class room educations or certifications. I do have a B.S. Degree In Applied Science. But I got that in the early 80s
I just got interested in computers in the mid 70s and kept reading and trying things and reading more. I ended up being the most computer knowledgeble person in any organizaton I worked at.If I ran into a problem or situation that I did not know about I researched it online, asked questions in forums like these, or asked more knowledgeble people on IRC. I would always eventually find the answer and just implement it.
Here is the problem. How do I present this to a potiental employer without all those certs and degrees in CS?
