What is a good macbook for sound design and possibly 3d modelling and unreal engine but doesn't kill my wallet? It is to pair with an iphone 12.

Price varies with where you are on the Planet Earth.

But hey, if I were to be forced to buy one, it would be the new M1 models.
But woah, hold up, Louis wasn't so nice about it at

What do you have now? Maybe some RAM and switching that ancient tech HDD to SSD would be all you need?

I have owned 3 laptops before.

I don't really feel like using 13000kr on a laptop (13000kr = 1300$) i would say that max price for me is maybe 900$ to 1000$

Then you have to look at what that price gets you.

My bet is that those slow laptops have hard disk drives. At our office we spent a year replacing all old HDDs with new SSDs since time is money and the price of SSDs had fallen.

Nothing I write here will change the price you pay. You need to find the stores in your area and see what that amount of money can get you.

But my bet is maybe, just maybe you can fix what you have now.

My suggestion

If you absolutely "Have" to have a MacBook in the price range you asked for, consider the MacBook Air. I had bought one back in 2006 or 2007 and was very impressed with its features for the price.
