Best O/S For Running Enterprise Oracle

By kamalma ·
My company is planning to install Oracle RDBMS. The system must be reliable, highly tunable & scalable. We'll be using Enterprise-wide Oracle Database with data measuring in GBs with about 150-200 users accessing the dbs simultaneously. What should be the best platform (Operating System) to run such a database?

You will get the most of what you are looking for by implementing this on a UNIX platform. Your next question will probably be hardware / vendor. Based on how you spec this out (price / performance) you'll probably find yourself looking at Sun (perhaps HP).

Good answer! But I'll need statistics to prove it. Only pointing out that Unix is the best O/S to run Enterprise Oracle won't suffice so please provide me the vital statistics.

Anyway, thanks for your response.
