It depends on what you're selling

by Dr Dij In reply to Best Places to Advertise ...

I attend ALOT of webinars. I usually sign up based on interest from
A) e-newsletters on a topic I have signed up to receive. so this isn't out of the blue spam but something I am following to some degree.
B) websites for companies I am interested in
C) organizations I am interested in, such as AIIM.org for ECM or TDWI.org for datawarehousing, ebizq, and numerous others.
D) occasionally from sites like TR or zdnet..

so in summary, find sites that have visitors that might be interested. you might need to pay to advertise on sites like computerworld, tek-tips, ittoolbox... and numerous others depending on the topic.

don't 'spam' a site, i.e. mention out of the blue about your product. this is usually frowned on. you can however mention your product in response to a question or discussion on the topic. i.e. the tdwi.org guy chimes in occasionally on dw-careers chat group on ittoolbox.com.

And DW appliance vendors battle it out with their opinions on their and competing products. Be sure to mention your affiliation so you don't sound spammy plugging it. And think about the person's question rather than just blasting a canned response that your product is great, as one obnoxious fellow already does up there.

Good luck!
