Best Practives for Laptops

Does anyone have a document, or know of a link to a document for ‘Best Practices for a Laptop’? The particular area we are wanting pertains to when a Windows XP Pro laptop is to be docked, undocked, put into hibernation, put to sleep, etc. All of this relating to other MS products, like Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
