Hi I hope someone can help me. I have the followig set-up at home: Belkin wireless G router (model F5D7633-4) and I have my main pc connected to this via cable, and i have two (sometimes 3) laptops that connect to it. My son also connects his Xbox 360 to it for xbox live, and that is in the furthest part of the house from the router. Most of the time he plays on xbox live, or when I am in that room with a laptop, the signal keeps dropping out. So, I want to upgrade my setup so that thing sdont drop off, but dont which of these options is best:
1 – buy a new wireless N router, which will hopefully increase the signal range.
2 – buy a range extender (such as LINKSYS
WRE54G wireless)and put that in the room where the xbox is.
Can someone please give me your thoughts on the best route forwards?
Typically in the day my pc is on and all my laptops are also connected, so I know I am sharing the bandwidth which must be adding to the problem, but i dont know if a wireless N solution will fix this?
And finally, do I need to get MIMO ? I have no idea what that is but loats of people on gaming sites say you need it!!
Thanks for your help…
