I apologise for the lack of information as i havent got the laptop in front of me.
I am “trying” to remove vista from a new gateway laptop (dont have model number to hand untill later)
I can get xp to boot from disc and copy all files but once it gets to the “choose a partition” stage the hard drive dosent show up, i have entered the bios to see if there is anything i have missed but it all seems fine to me, please can somebody point out the obvious to me so i can get this sorted.

Reason for changing operating systems – vista hasnt got drivers for specific hardware the laptop needs to run.
