bios dont recognize my sata drvie

hi a few days i bought a samsung hdd model hd161hj
is a sata2 my mother is a intel d945gcnl and its suposed to handle sata2 but when turn on it takes a long time before entering to bios setup and then it doesn`t recognize the sata drive its my first time with sata devices and im truly lost!!!! help

Go into BIOS setup and make sure that SATA/RAID is enabled. Make sure you have the latest drivers. Check with Intel: <br>

That is about all I've got, Intel suggests the same things that I did, but there may be more, so go have a look-see.
