Bios downloads

By jim ·
Hi I need to download the latest bios for a Syntax s651m motherboard - current bios is SIS-651-6A6IXE196-00, but is suspect. Does anyone know of a site that allows just the bios file to be downloaded, since the PC in question is not able to run windows at present?

Regards

Jim

The Makers name is what is Important here

by OH Smeg In reply to Bios downloads

Not the Chip Set Type.

Everything refers to an Intel M'Board with a SIS Chip Set so it has to be a M'Board for a Intel CPU not a M'Board made by Intel.

Go to the M'Boards Makers Web Site if they still exist and look there for a BIOS update.

Hi Oh Smeg - I thought like you that this is might initially be an intel m'board too, but it is not. Syntax appears as the logo on start up, and the bios string identifies sis. The CPU is a P4. aopen use the same part number for a m'board but it is not the same layout

Well everything I could find out about it

Calls it a Intel SIS Board. Here I'm assuming the Intel Refers to a Intel CPU as the SIS has to refer to the Chip Set.

Does the M'Board have any marking on it at all? That is where you need to look or at the System Makers Name & Model Number if it is an Off the Shelf System. :)
