BIOS for mac computer.

Hi,
i'm interested in learning how to (re) load bios on mac computer.I'm just a beginner, no previus knoledge.

Firstly I'm no Apple Guru

But from previous experience you can FLASH the BIOS but not reload it if something has gone wrong when you have Flashed the BIOS. That chip is effectively now dead and can not be rewritten while in the computer.

However if the BIOS chip Programming has been damaged it's possible to replace the Chip with a new one that has the latest BIOS on it. For full directions on how to order a replacement BIOS Chip with the version of BIOS that you want or the latest one available for that particular computer have a look at this URL

I'm not sure if they deal in Apple BIOS Chips but as they have just about everything else that is available they would be worth a try. They offer an excellent service and are very good to deal with. I personally always buy replacement BIOS Chips in Mission Critical Servers rather than run the risk of having one go down when attempting to Flash the BIOS. It works out much cheaper and it's generally faster to just change the BIOS Chip rather than try to Flash the BIOS and come up with an error that makes that M'Board unusable.
