By mr_t998 ·

i deinstalled software from my hardware list
it contained the words: "bios pnp"
pnp means plug n play, this is all i can remember
The reason why i deinstalled was because it had the error that it would not initialise

I would like to reinstall it, does anyone know which software i need ?

I have a windows xp sp3
3.0 ghz
512 mb ram
232 gb harddisk
brand: fujitsu siemens

i think its a driver

No need

If the PC on reboot is not detecting new hardware then their is no hardware to detect.

If everything seems to be working correctly and you can plug in and use a USB device, the I wouldn't worry.

Now if you have plug and play issues then you may need to get it repaired. My reasoning is, if the Device Manager said it could not initialize the device, then physically the chip or controller on the motherboard has failed.
