BIOS Problem

By vopro ·
I'm fairly new to the technical world. My neighbor brought over a computer because it won't boot. I want to get into the BIOS but it doesn't give me a command at bootup to do this. How do I get into the BIOS settings.

You have to be more specific as to what kind computers it is? If it is a Dell you just have to press F2 when the Dell logo pops up to enter setup(BIOS). The Delete button seems to work on most PC but if that fails there is usually a command(during boot up)telling you which button to press to get in.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

well as a last resort you could start hitting all keys "one at a time" from esc to pause on the top of the keyboard plus the delete key. This has to be done before windows starts to load (who knows which one with the limited info). As a real last resort you could go inside the computer and unplug the hard drive ribbon and/or power cable. This should tell you there has been a boot failure and press (for example) "f1 to continue" or "f2 to enter setup"
