Most Flash Bios is run from dos mode, using the floppy is more convient.I am not sure you cannot download the upgrade to your hard drive and then boot to DOS and using the command to locate the file on your hard drive and run it from there. At the command prompt type in drive letter, location and file name.

HI

Not sure about this. Little bit I did on this for the couple that I did indicates you need the FD. It has a program that loads and updates and I doubt it will work with other programs present (or that you would even want to try). You can purchase a FD for $10-15 at most computer stores (Fry's Elec, CompUSA, BestBuy, etc.). Most likely worth the $ for ERD and such in any case. lo

No way with Win2K.
Do you have an old HD and DOS 5.0 or DOS 5A?
That might/should work, although, I have never tried it.
