bios.vxd in win 98

Is the bios.vxd in windows 98 unique for each machine or can I copy this file from one pc with 98 and paste it on another pc with win 98. Mine is corrupt.

Also can I restore system files from the win 98 disk with out messing up any installed programs. If so what is the command line...

The bios is unique to any one machine and cannot be transfered to another machine,unles you have the same configuration on both machines
To restore System files,insert Startup disk in floppy drive and boot computer and choose option to run setup without cd-rom support.
If this does not work insert the cd in drive and run setup,to reinstall the OS,you can then create a new startup disk
