Blank 'new browser' windows

By jblake ·
A friend of mine has a P3 w98 and just changed from dial up to DSL. Now when browsing in IE6, if a link on a page calls up a new window or he right clicks>open in new window, the new window opens up with an empty new browser window (except for the title bar and toolbars)
I dont know for sure, but he says that he didnt do anything else to it.
Its got me stumped. Help!

Sounds like an IE issue, first of all make sure no popup stoppers are active. That he has Java installed (Use the SUN copy, not the MS JVM) http://www.sun.com)

Lastly, go to Add/Remove programs and click to remove Microsoft IE6, it will give you the option to run an IE repair.

To resolve this problem in Internet Explorer, follow these steps: 1. Quit all programs that are running.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.

This worked, but thanks anyway. I thought your way was going to do it.
