I was reinstalling XP Pro so that it was a fresh install, removing everything off the drive. halfway through the installation, my laptop hard-froze where nothing would work, keyboard & mouse wouldnt function at all. I had no choice but to hard-press the power button to switch off, but once i switched back on with the installation disc still in the drive the screen would not come on. The laptop seems to make the right whirs and noises as if t comes on ok, the disc drive whirrs away as if the installation disc is to start an install, but absolutely nothing appears on the screen, have i fried the motherboard ???
