blip blip

Hi I have a 4in1 usb add-on card reader, it is made to install in the p4 tower runing XP, the wierd thing about it is with headphones on, mic turned up, it seems to emit a blip blip sound like a heart monitor or pong. Is that normal? ThanX BDO

It could be as this depends on the Circuitry in the unit

It could be some unshielded cables being used which are picking up some stray EMF and causing this to happen as well.

Actually there are so many possibilities that it's hard to track down what's happening here so you'll need to start to disconnect things and see if the problem persists.

Definitely sounds like low voltage electrical noise

If this USB reader has unshieled wires, or some other component close to the reader has unshiled wires, that clicking sound may be a result of EMF crosstalk generated by weak electro-magnetic fields. Try moving the reader to a different PC and see if the problem persists to rule out whether it is the PC or the reader itself.
