Blocked Emails

By windsormike ·
I have an XP PC, running over ADSL. Somehow, my PC is blocking mail sent TO a specific address in both Outlook and Outlook Express. Any ideas what would block it - I have Outpost Pro, XP Firewall Enabled and Norton Antivirus....

Lost about where to look next....
Have Disabled Outpost and inbound scanning on Norton

Help would be much appreciated !

No offence, but it's the first question I ask everybody ... you are sending to a valid email address that you are typing in correctly - of course you are.
I'm wondering if your mail is going out and being blocked at the ISP level? I am seeing and hearing about lots of ISPs who have a bit of tweaking to do in their anti-spam software. Just a thought.

Do you get a reject message back from your ISP?

I had this problem yesterday evening. My ISP was blocking my outgoing email, but all incomeing email was fine. Go to the tools dropdown in outlook, click accounts, select mail tab, highlight your default mail account, click properties to the right, select servers tab. Then check your settings on this account. If your not sure what they should be, your isp will be happy to provide you with them. In my case this was not the solution, but its a good start. Also some spam programs (if installed) will change these settings by default.
