Blocking an Exchange Mailbox

By mjervis ·
I have an exchange server 5.5 with service pack 3 running on an NT 4.0 system. I have a couple of users that we need to limit thier E-Mail services to only internal emails while all others are allowed full email services.

What is the simplest way to accomplish blocking thier access in and out of the building????

Under the "email addresses" tab of their mailbox properties, delete their smtp address.

Just for good measure, in addition to making sure they don't have an SMTP address (that will prevent inbound Internet mail), you should also go to the Delivery Restrictions tab on the Internet Mail Service properties page and add their mailbox to the box on the right "Reject mail from:". That will make sure they can't send outbound to the Internet.

Thank you for the second piece of the puzzle of keeping some users completely inside our network and no outside contact :-)
