Blowing into the cartridge to remove dust

I always thought it was great to blow into the cartridges (for this and NES) in the event that dust had collected on the contacts. It was a good strategy unless you blew spittle. I’ve seen a lot of rusted-out contacts from people who overemployed that strategy.

Anybody else do this?
