Anyone ever use the Blue Ocean - Track It product and what do you think???

Any other software recommendations?

What do you use to Manage the endless flow of work orders Inventory, track, and manage your hardware and software assets.

All useful answers will share in points.

As far as computer networks and tracking hardware configurations and software [updates, patched, service packs, installed programs] I use MS Systems Management Server. As far as the other portion of your question, work order and inventory is kinda apersonal preference thing. There are many specialized programs available. Depends upon WWWWHW factor. [who, what, where, when, how , why did we do that]

I use Track it. I didn't upgrade to the latest version however, since I did not need the extra new features at this time.
I use it mainly for work orders and to keep track of PC inventory. Auditing scheduling for PC's can be controled in admin mode. The PC's audit themselves via a line in the users logon script
so you can tell who was the last one to log on a PC after you merge the audit data.
I audit the hardware on the PC's as well as the OS/service pak. In Admin mode I can add the things I want to view in a table format
So for example I have on screen each PC's
computer name; Department; location of pc; phone extension; last person to logon; IP address; mac address; OS\servicepack; ram installed.
On every PC I put a shortcut on the "all users" desktop to the track it work order executable on the network share - SIMPLE

I use track-it as well and lkove the program. I used to use a little heard of program called CLick-Net that i ran across in the Navy. Wonderful program. It handled all inventory, license management and help desk functions. The help desk was via a web interface. It did a network layout in a map format too which i really like.

There are others it deoends on your budget. SMS is an ok product but the learning curve is steep and it is diffucult at best to implement solutions. A range of third party apps is in ,my bag now including track it, network view, and a home brew access database via web interface that I use as a help desk for most of my clients.
