Hopefully you can figure out what driver has caused the BSOD. Try looking in the upper right hand corner, or lower right for what the driver name is. It will usually be something.sys or something.dll. Once you have that info use a utility by Winternals.com called ERD commander. You can boot to an NT4.0 command prompt and read and write to NTFS volumes(allowing you to replace the corrupt driver with an uncorrupt one. You can also load the registry and change local machine passwords with theutility. Otherwise you will probably have to reload the OS. http://www.winternals.com

Try choosing the VGA mode option on boot. If this starts without a BSOD, then you can examine the event log. There are many causes of the BSOD. A K_MODE_EXCEPTION is frequently hardware related. I found a bad memory module once, after writing down the description and codes from the BSOD. In taht instance re-installing would have gotten me nowhere. A damaged paging file can cause a K_MODE. You should really write down the specifics, then we can better assist you. When does the BSOD occur? What software, hardware, settings have been cahnged recently? If it is a K_MODE, can you run hardware diagnostics?
