Blue screen of death Windows XP

By Terry_V ·
A few years ago I had a problem with my computer going to the BSOD error sceen and I fixed it by downloading 6 floppy disks, which allowed me to boot up into the recovery cosole whereby I was able to repair the problem by using file created by the windows recovery utility. Where can I download the disks for windows XP home, and where do I find the instructions as to which files to manipulate.

This version of Windows installs from a cd, or DVD. This would have come with the PC/Laptop. Depending on what Brand you have it may also have a recovery partition. You haven't given folks alot to work with in this question.

But the XP Boot Disc's where only ever a half way attempt to support older Hardware that couldn't boot from a Optical Drive. You can do the same thing by altering the Boot Order in the System BIOS to Floppy then Optical and finally HDD, remember to save the changes as you exit the BIOS.

Then insert the Windows Install Disc and allow the system to boot off that. So when you get the Prompt to Press any key to boot off CD press any key and follow the prompts.
