Bluescreen on shutdown (NT4.0)

By jmarquez ·
When I try to shut down the system it goes through saving data to disk. Then it appears to have finish when the blue screen pops up. On the top of the screen it reads
unexpected_kernel_mode_trap. I am dual-booting with Win2000. I was working on personal setting on the Win2000. Then went back to NT 4.0, did some work and when I finished I tried to shut down like I always did when the bluescreen pop up. Help?

Bluescreen on shutdown (NT4.0)

I had something similar with what you had and MS had instructed me to go ahead and re-install NT 4.0. I did that and my problem of the blue screen went away, however the system still runs a bit sluggish since adding 2000 Pro. They believed the kernel was corrupted and could only be fixed with a reinstall. The repair disk was no help either. Good luck
