Bluetooth / RFID local PC authentication

by dtravmcse . Updated 17 years, 9 months ago

My company is looking to provide a select number of users with the ability to carry a small Bluetooth/RFID enabled dongle in their pocket, which will allow them to login and authenticate to a specific PC.

We would like those users to be able to login to one or more machines, without having to remember (or ever know) the login username and password. Once the user left the area, and walked outside the Bluetooth/RFID signal range, the PC would then lock it’s screen.

This system should function similarly to a bluetooth-enabled automobile, which unlocks the doors as you approach, with the car keys in your pocket.

Is anyone familiar with any available solutions?

Thanks
-Dan
