Bogus "overclocking failure" message

By kte ·
Anyone out there run into this: I just built a system with an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe mobo with Intel P4 3.0 Ghz; 2x512 Crucial pc3200 DDRAM.
I EZ Flashed the BIOS to v1021. Problem is on Boot I get a message saying overclocking failed and giving me the option of pressing F1 to go into the BIOS or F2 to continue with loading defaults. Pressing F2 allows me to continue but the issue is I haven't done anything to overclock and to the best of my knowledge I am already running with defaults set in the BIOS. Has anyone out there run into this?

This is a tech. problem, in search of a solution.

It properly belongs in "Technical Q&A," not in "Discussions." Please re-post there.

Not only will you be more likely to attract the attention of those seeking to provide answers, but you will also make it easier for those seeking discussions to find such.

Thank you.
