A boot disk?

Or, a startup disk for installing W2K?

For a DOS boot, just right click on the floppy drive and select format.
Check the option to create a DOS boot disk.

For a startup disk:
Insert your W2K CD.
Browse the CD.
I believe the name of the utility is makeboot, and you need at least 3 floppy disks.

If your system supports booting from the CD drive, you can boot from the W2K CD and run setup that way.

no i need to have a recovery disk i thought you could make one for repairing an installation of win 2000 the cd wont allow me to repair because updates have been downloaded from microsoft and it thinks it is an older version . I keep getting the dreaded blue screen of death and i really dont want to format the computer but im not really experienced enough to find the problems with it

To create an emergency repair disk for windows 2000 you use the backup program.

Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Backup.

Then select TOOLS from the backup menu and "Create an Emergency Repair disk"
