I have a Compaq desktop computer that is running Windows XP. When I turn it on I get a message that reads; Boot Disk Failure, Please insert system disk. I have tried to diagnose the problem and it seems to be the hard drive. I have an older computer hardrive with Windows 98 and I have put it in as the slave. I can get the old hard drive to boot but the newer will not. Do you have any suggestions on how to retrieve the information from the bad hard drive.
