By masterp ·
I have a PC with a new hard drive. When I boot it with a win 98 startup disk I get the error "BSP CPU......Err:Microcode"
Any Ideas?

Guess is that this a a haard drive error message that is caused by low level formatting from the manufacturer, contact the vendor of your hard drive

Sounds like hard drive is damaged. Is the hard drive making any noise?

You should try installing the hard drive as a slave drive to see if its the hard drive or any of the hardware on the machine?

Yikes. Good luck.

Still get the error but it runs great. Guess I will see what happens down the road. Thanks for your help.
