Boot problem

by risk80 . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

Hi,
I was having a problem with my computer in that my keyboard did not work in the windows boot menus. I read that I had to enable USB keyboard support in the BIOS, which I did. I also may have changed some other settings, but I am sure that the USB keyboard support caused this. Ever since, my computer just hangs at the point where windows should start booting (note that it doesnt actually get to the point of the Windows boot screen/menu appearing), because of this i am sure the problem is software related and to do with the BIOS. I have disabled USB keyboard support, Loaded optimised defaults, forced it to reassign the IRQ numbers. All of this was done systematically and to no avail. Please help
