BOOT server??

by dan.cox In reply to Boot Server

What do you mean by boot server? Do you mean bootup to do workstation installs?
If so then if you have a Windows 2003 server in your environment a simple thing to do is install Microsoft Windows Deployment Services. (WDS)
It is a small 1.7MB package that installs and hosts a PXE boot process. You can use Microsoft WAIK to create a boot file that will boot your machines to a PE(Preboot Environemt).
This could be used for a number of uses. Installing workstations, recovering data from crashed systems, doing boot sector virus scans. The possibilities are endless.
Provide more info of what you are trying to do. What is your goal?
