Boot-Up error

by randerson7 . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

In-service machine will not boot to windows. Error reads “Windows couldn’t start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.
Couldn’t read from selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware. Please check the windows documentation about hardware disk config and your hardware reference manuals for add. info.”
I installed new HDD when this first appeared and have since replaced ribbon. The error remains even after reimaging is successful. BIOS shows HDD and sectors. The machine was OK until message showed up.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
