Bootable CD powers off my PC … Urgent help plzzzz

by phoenix_infinityworld . Updated 18 years, 10 months ago

hey there , i have a serious problem. i recently wanted to re-install windows xp through a bootable winXP CD , but each time i try to boot my pc through this CD in either my DVD drive or CD-Rom drive , the pc suddenly powers off completely , it happens just after the bootable cd loads or just before it,,,

Simultaneously , this power off occurs also after a long use of my DVD , when i watch a 4 hours video on a DVD , it powers off the pc once or twice … this problem seems to be recent and idon’t know why?!

I changed my Power Supply with a new one but the boot problem still occurs “is there certain type of Power Supply i should check??”… i changed all the data cables ,everything else seems OK except for this problem…

Also my DVD burns normally with no errors , i tested it and checked with Nero drive speed which showed no errors

my specifications: MSI motherboard , 2.8 intel celeron processor , 512 DDRAM , SAMSUNG 52X CDROM , Aopen DVD-RW 16?16 , Maxtor 80GB hard drive. , onboard VGA 92MB..

plz i really hope that someone can help cuz i need to install a fresh copy of windows xp

thanx in advance…
