Bootable flash drive, problem with BartPE

By DKeith45 ·
BartPE is still refusing to budge on my bootable USB drive project.

Following the TechRepublic tutorial (bootable_usb.pdf)at page 5 of 7, and at a command prompt at the "pebuilder3110a" folder, then typing the suggested: "pe2usb -f h:" I got an error message from BartPE stating that the volume of my Sandisk Cruzer 8gig USB drive is too large to format for Fat16/12 and the format failed... and I'm SOL. Any suggestions?

So partition the flash drive into four 2Gb chunks, or just use a smaller capacity drive.

Partitioning a UFD... that's the question

by DKeith45 In reply to Okay,

OK, So I get I need to partition the UFD. From other posts I take it that Fat16 has a 4 gig partition size limit? Now the problem is how to partition the UFD. I tried the program located in Control Panel, Admin tools, Computer Management... and. IT doesn't decect the UFD... so, time to search the net for a proggy that will partition a UFD. Making a bootable UFD has become QUITE a project... Thanks Tech Republic... I guess... for giving me the idea that it is even possible... but guys... it's time to update your tutorial... it's woefully lacking in 2010. You should either stop bringing it up, or update it... um... thanks.
