Boot.ini not visible

you look in your system partition. the system partition, on Intel x86-based machines, is a primary partition that has been marked active. In my computer, it is drive C:. to be sure, you can go to command prompt (start/run, type cmd.exe and ok) to toc and type edit boot.ini.
probably your show hidden files setting is set to a specific folder only. try clicking on Like Current Folder.

hope this helps

Youv'e forgot to enable System Files view under Explorer. Enable this to, cause the boot.ini has got the System Flag set and this is by design.

Two items lower is the choice: "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)". Clear the check box and answer yes you really did mean to do this and then you should be all set. The files will be sort of gray but they will display.

If you plan on editing this file make a copy first of the original. It is ALWAYS better to modify this file by using the control panel instead.

Hi
you would also need to uncheck on hide protected operatong system files and Hide file extensions for known file types.
